Unlike English, the question word isn’t brought to the front of the sentence, it’s kept in the flow of the sentence. Here is a list of the question words.
- asha - what
- asha+counter - how many ___
- dor’el - how, interrogative (-el) adjective asking about the quality
- dath - who
- imma - how, asking for the adverb info: quickly, randomly, that sort of thing
- pwi - when
- tadha - how, asking by what means something was done.
- sangu - where
- reshi - which, asking for a choice to be made
- kinda - why, asking the reason that something was done. Placed at the end of the sentence.
Examples:
- Asha kara dwi’a? - What did you do?
- Delana tedeu il do ashaga belodar? - How many days will we be walking for?
- Tamen endo dwi dath? – Who killed him?
- Diel wego il pwi? - When will you go back?
- Mioo iro dwi’a da sangu? – Where did you find the cat at?
- Ara doral? – How are y’all?
- Tamen belese dwi imma? – How did he die?
- Diel ebor dwi tadha? – How/By what means did you know?

Yes or No Questions[]
These are quite simple. It’s just the statement with “dozha” and a question mark at the end. “Dozha” is a blending of the words for yes, “dosa” and no, “zhasa”. Here is the syntax of the question:
- Sentence dozha
And the answer will be either:
- dosa Sentence
- zhasa Sentence
"Dosa" indicates agreement, and "zhasa" indicates disagreement. This is a little different from English, where the use of "yes" and "no" match the negative/positive state of the sentence.
Examples:
- Ann’re endo dwi’a dozha? – Did you kill my father?
- Dosa, ann’a endo dwi’re. – Yes, I killed your father.
- Zhasa, ann’a zha’endo dwi’re. – No, I didn’t kill your father.
- Ann’a zha’vendel dwi’a dozha? - Did you not help your father?
- Dosa, ann’re zha’vendel dwi’re. – Yes, I didn’t help my father.
- Zhasa, ann’re vendel dwi’re. – No, I did help my father.
- Ann’re endo dwi’a dozha? – Did you kill my father?
When you’re in a hurry, a simple “Dosa!” or “Zhasa!” will do.
